严肃之余

Bertrand Meunier是一位法国著名的摄影师。他用了2000年中期在中国所拍摄的一些黑白照与电影编辑Felix Fouchet 剪接了一个富有启发性的短片， “ERASED"或《抹去》。在这9分35秒的短片里，顺序的图片，逐步的，完整的，慢慢的揭开Bertrand Meunier 一张张的图片。随着主题的呼应， 图片彼此前后的连带关系，激发了观看者的思维。陪伴着短片的音乐是由Bjork, DJ Krush, Komann and Roni Size精心编制而成。它能领导你的思绪，逐步的进入短片的精髓。

在观看短片的同时，我和友人在兴起之余，搞了些的小动作。随着画面在投影机的转换下，友人摆了些附合图片的姿势， 让影子投影在黑百的画面上，造成了画中有人，人中有画的新兴“艺术”照。有趣吧？

Together with film editor Felix Fouchet, Bertrand Meunier has done an impressive and inspired montage of his black and white pictures taken in China in the mid-2000s. Perfectly paced, the video unveils Meunier's pictures one by one, in a very carefully chosen order, making the pictures echo one another and reveal underlying themes and correlations which would otherwise remain unnoticed. The montage is accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack comprising compositions by Bjork, DJ Krush, Komann and Roni Size. This photo video montage was made possible with the support of the Nicephore Niepce Museum in France.

生命在死亡前的旅途 - Life Before Death: Journeys

我哭了。从未想过看摄影展会流眼泪，很不可思议。这就是 Deanna Ng 在《亚洲摄影之月》里的摄影展，Life Before Death: Journeys, "生命在死亡前的旅途"。

Deanna在 LienFoundation 的委托下为临终者拍摄了一系列的 "Legacy Album" 或遗产相册。这相册把临终者过去和现在的照片，回忆，和他们在死亡前的生活记录下来， 永久的献给他们的家人。为了拍摄这个别的相册，Deanna 用了几个月的时间和临终者和他们的家人相处。她到他们的家中或医院病榻前, 了解和融入他们的生活，把临终者和他家人的关系，生活，挣扎都一一的记录下来。看着临终者的离去，这任务也对Deanna造成了某程度的影响。有些临终者还来不及拍摄，已离开人间.....

在影展读Deanna的前言时，在我内心最深处的那道伤痕已再次被触痛, 眼泪已装满了眼眶。她所讲的不就是我和家人所经历过的吗？我妈妈去年在癌症的摧残下离开了人世。再看下去的时候，眼泪一触即发。癌症病人内心的害怕与恐惧，家人无私的爱与奉献，历历在目。 在眼泪不听使唤的情况下，流着流着，感动的看完了整个展览。

在这展览里，Deanna 呈献了三个家庭的故事。

In September 2008, Deanna Ng was commissioned by the Lien Foundation to celebrate the lives and legacies of the terminally ill for it's Life Before dearth campaign Legacy Albums initiatives. The Legacy Albums were produced for individuals who had been nominated by loved ones to receive a specially created album that put together past and present photographs, memories, anecdotes and their journey of life before death. Deanna has since documented three subjects and their families for this ongoing photo project : The late Mr Ng Wai Mun, a loving hubby and devoted father, was a true fighter till the end; Madam Mariam and her family who seem to face impossible situations in their lives, and Mr Phua Hock Seng, whose dance of life was cut short by the Lou Gehrig's disease. Her exhibition is the result pf her many months of engaging the subjects, capturing their family relationships and struggles, and the ups and down of a terminal illness. What one would imagined being pictures of gloom and fear, Deanna's photos instead reveal beauty, strength and love that rise above all odds. If death is a final destination in life, the families have chosen to celebrate their journey instead.

《心灵不设防的瞬间》- Steve McCurry

如果你对Steve McCurry 这名字感到陌生，那么，你应该见过下面这幅《阿富汗的少女》的图片吧。这是《国家地理》最有名的作品，来自美国的Steve McCurry， 当今最出色的摄影师之一。



Steve McCurry 非常正凝视南亚。他数次潜入阿富汗，采访游击队，多次报道国际间、国家内部的战争冲突，包括：两伊战争、贝鲁特、阿富汗、菲律宾、海湾战争，以及前南斯拉夫的瓦解等。 他常在拍摄时，将每一个地域的特殊色彩，透过摄影镜头表现出来。像印度有很多东西是红色的。而中东一个地方流行将建筑涂成蓝色的，弄得整个城市有种如梦幻似的效果。除了有目的的去撷取画面之外，McCurry很喜欢到了目的地后，任意在当地四处走走，去欣赏当地的一点一滴的人与物。带着一颗好奇心、随意的街头速写为他带来了许多好作品。出现在《国家地理杂志》的地方包括西藏、阿富汗、印度、伊拉克、也门和吴哥。

Steve McCurry 在1979年拍摄的关于前苏联入侵阿富汗的作品使他赢得了备受人羡慕的Robert Capa Gold Medal大奖。一直拍摄的与这一主题相关的作品使得他名扬摄影界。那副鼎鼎有名的《阿富汗少女》拍摄于1984年，巴基斯坦白夏瓦（Peshawar）附近的难民营。少女那双令人震撼的蓝眼睛出现在1985年6月号的《国家地理杂志》上，此后这张照片在全世界被无数次地印刷。在拍摄少女的肖像时，Steve McCurry 同时也拍了她以面纱盖半张脸的照片（下图）。当时《国家地理》杂志的编辑部难以取舍，后来才决定用举世闻名的那一张。而Steve McCurry 也开玩笑说如果当初选择盖半张脸的，他可能今天就不会那么出名了



Steve McCurry 说到 "Most of my images are grounded in people. I look for the unguarded moment, the essential soul peeking out, experience etched on a person's face. I try to convey what it is like to be that person, a person caught in a broader landscape, that you could call the human condition."

Steve McCurry 曾六次获得 World Press Photo Awards大奖，他高超的摄影技巧在他的大量作品中都得到证实。







以下其中的几张作品在“亚洲摄影之月“里取名《心灵不设防的瞬间》- The Unguarded Moment 的展览里的展出。同时，当局也举办了摄影比赛，优胜者由Steve McCurry 亲自选出。

"亚洲摄影之月”-Month Of Photography Asia 2009

今年的"亚洲摄影之月”（Month Of Photography Asia简称MOPS)，从6月17日到7月19日在新加坡多个地点呈献，其中有7个主要项目和一个录影纪实摄影展。今年的主题是"联系亚洲" (Engaging Asia)。

The theme "Engaging Asia" addresses how photographers have engaged with the concept of Asia not merely as a geographical entity but also in terms of the content's identity, culture, politics and social issues. Asia, in its sheer diversity, is a heterogeneous intersection of identities, cultures, politics, communities and societies.

Photographer from the east and west have often attempt to capture the many facets that make up Asia, often creating a rich discourse on the diversity of the continent. The 2009 edition of MOPS is an attempt at portraying some of these discourses and hopes to use photography as the bridge between cultures.

影展除了展出本地年轻一代摄影家的作品外，也邀请来世界几位摄影名家到来参与其盛，其中有Magnum摄影图片社的Steve McCurry,以拍摄中国为创作主要方向的法国著名摄影家Marc Riboud，过去活跃于东欧的Francoise Huguier，拍摄中国录影纪录片的Bertrand Meunier等。
